ARCHITEXTURE SERIES...

This is a new series that I have begun working on.

Will be working in copper, brass and sterling silver.

These are the first 5 pairs that I have finished.

Speckled enamel is actually from the left enamel and is mixed together

ENAMELING...

Have been enameling for the past couple of nights...

very time consuming, especially

when you hand torch, but so much fun!

Enameling pieces for earrings and pendants...

both sides are enameled to give the piece stability...

I have definitely gotten more comfortable with the torch,

using it the past 2 nights...now on to soldering!

You have to make sure that your pieces are clean, clean,

clean, otherwise the enamel won't stick, sometimes

I've had to add additional enamel to the edges if they pulled away...

I cut out all the round disks, and punched the holes...

as soon as they are put together...

New Earrings...

Today I made some earrings...

The piece of Sterling that these earrings came from was put through

a rolling mill about 21 years ago. The silver sat until I pulled it out just recently.

I added some additional hammer marks to the pieces and antiqued them.

Same piece of sterling, a little longer...decided to put these on a sterling post.

These are from the same piece of sterling, smaller size,

with hammered brass washers, sterling earwires.

Beginning to Dabble with Enamels!

So excited to finally get the courage to begin playing with enamels at home! I have had a fear of torches, and I am slowly getting more comfortable with them. This will definitely open up many more options for me in jewelry making!

 This is my set up. I have already done a couple of pieces. You can see the current color I am working on...enamel residue left on the paper on the tray. You can also see the piece sitting on the trivet waiting to be fired. I have to wear a mask and protective glasses when I do this.

These are the 1st 2 pieces that I completed.

These are actually swatch pieces for the colors that I currently have in stock.

On one of the pieces at the bottom, I've combined 3 colors...

pink, purple and blue.
